East Stirlingshire have been handed a home tie to start their Scottish Cup campaign.

John Coughlin’s side will play Threave Rovers in the second round of the William Hill sponsored competition.

It is the third time the sides have met.

The club won their first meeting in season 1978/79 but lost after a replay in 2002/03.

Threave were most recently at Ochilview in the competition in season 2010/11 when Stenhousemuir faced Davie Irons’ team, won on a replay then took the Galloway side’s manager to replace John Coughlin.

Second round ties will be played on October 5.

Stenhousemuir enter the competition at the third round stage, planned for November 2 and Falkirk enter last, in the fourth round scheduled for St Andrew’s Day - November 30.
