East Stirlingshire face a long journey to rural Aberdeenshire after being drawn away to Formartine United in the first round of the Ramsdens Cup.

John Coughlin’s men will travel to North Lodge Park in Pitmedden on Saturday, July 27 to play the Highland League side, who finished second in their division last season.

Stenhousemuir were handed a home tie against a side that they know well - fellow Second Division members Arbroath.

The Warriors will play their first pre-season friendly on Saturday against East of Scotland League side Craigroyston at Ochilview.

Meanwhile, Stenhousemuir chairman Bill Darroch was appointed a director of the Scottish Professional Football League at a meeting at Hampden Park yesterday evening which also founded the new league structure.

Mr Darroch has been in change at Ochilview since taking over from Martin McNairney.

He is joined on the SPFL board by representatives from Hamilton, Alloa, Aberdeen, Dundee United and Celtic.
