East Stirlingshire continue to lead the SPFL League Two after a 2-1 win over Clyde at Broadwood.

And Martyn Corrigan’s Warriors fought back from a goal down to seal a point for Stenhousemuir against Ayr United and keep the club in third place in League One.

After a scoreless first half, East Stirlingshire took the lead against Jim Duffy’s side when Max Wright found the net on 49 minutes. However John Sweeney levelled for the Cumbernauld side and, for two minutes, Shire’s unblemished record looked at risk.

But Wright was again on hand to restore the advantage for John Coughlin’s team and netted the winner with a quarter of an hour left.

The win keeps Shire on top of the league with 12 points from a possible 15.

Meanwhile at Ochilview, a second half equaliser from Ross Smith gave Stenhousemuir a point to keep them on Dunfermline’s coat-tails in League One.

Though it’s early days, the Warriors are comfortably in the play-off positions and sit third behind Dunfermline on goal difference.

Rangers continue to lead the table with a full complement of 15 points, with the Pars and Warriors five points behind.
