TODAY (Thursday) sees a new law come into force for football fans in Scotland.

The controversial Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Act 2012 sparked fan protests at some clubs but was passed by the Scottish Government last year.

It has a wide reaching cover and includes abusive and threatening behaviour and offensive singing and chanting.

Falkirk FC fans were given a pre-match tannoy briefing before Saturday’s win over Queen of the South.
