Blair Alston handed Falkirk fans a late Christmas present thanks to his 90th minute winner against local rivals Dunfermline.
The Bairns had last tasted victory at East End Park in 2007 but Steven Pressley’s side arrived in Fife in confident mood following last week’s 4-1 win away to Airdrie.
The midfielder snatched the points for Falkirk after an engrossing derby match spilled over midway through the first half.
Alston stroked home on the 90th minute after Lyle Taylor had crossed low into the box and gave Falkirk a deserved, but exhausting, victory.
The game was frantic and Pars boss Jim Jefferies was sent to the stand - and he was joined eight minutes later by Jordan McMillan, who walked for grabbing Stewart Murdoch by the throat.
After the break and with a man advantage it was all Falkirk, and Dunfermline looked to be losing their cool, while the young Bairns stayed balanced, but they regained composure to hang in the game.
And just as a draw looked on the cards, up popped Alston to send the Bairns fans into rapture.
