Falkirk came from behind to secure three points from a tricky trip to Cowdenbeath.
Two goals in four second half minutes proved enough for Falkirk after Greg Stewart had turned in a Lewis Coult centre to give the lowly Fifers a 32nd minute lead.
The first came from a Mark Stewart header following a Ryan Flynn cross after 65 minutes.
Then, on 69 minutes, Brian McLean netted the winner when he was set up by Mark Millar.
However, the Bairns’ promotion hopes are still feint, with leaders Dunfermline 6-1 victors over Queen of the South and second-placed Raith Rovers eventually seeing off Stirling Albion 2-1.
Elsewhere, an injury-time strike from Stephen Murray earned Stenhousemuir a point at East Fife while East Stirlingshire went down 2-1 at home to Albion Rovers, with Darren Kelly getting their counter.
