Fierce Valley Roller Girls will host their first public derby at the weekend.

The Parma Violents will play against English side Wirral Whipiteres at The Peak sports centre in Stirling on Saturday, November 17 from 2 p.m.

Roller derby is the fastest growing women’s sport and involves teams on roller skates attempting to lap each other.

Roller girl Lady Feerocious said: “The Whirrall Whipiteres are the first English team we will face, so Fierce vAlley Roller Girls are hoping to make a good impression in their first public outing.

“Members of the ever-expanding UK roller derby community are expected on the day, as well as support from the local community projects that skaters have volunteered with throughout the year.”

In the build-up to the first whistle, both teams will be introduced to the crowd before getting stuck into the action. A bout programme will be available that details each teams line-up and includes a handy roller derby guide. Event staff will also be on-hand throughout the day to explain the rules of the game.

The Forth Valley based team now has a waiting list for new members to join and their ‘Fresh Meat’ taster events have been filled to capacity every session.
