FALKIRK bowed out of the Scottish Cup in a 1-0 defeat at Firhill.
An early strike from Chris Erskine after six minutes saw the Jags
through to a fifth round meeting with St Johnstone.
Falkirk were a vast improvement on the defeat against Queen of the
South, but still not enough to overcome the Jags who kept them at bay with a dogged performance.
Carl Finnigan had the best chance to grab a late equaliser four minutes
from time but shot wide from six yards out.
Tam Scobbie and Kieran Duffie were missing from the team that slumped on Saturday, and replaced by Mehdi Khlis and debutant Stewart Murdch who had a solid game in midfield.
Steven Pressley said: "There were positives to take out of
tonight, and obviously I'm disappointed, but not with the performance."
Ian McCall punched the air at full-time and enthused: "I don't think our goalkeeper had a save to mak, even when Falkirk the everything forward late on."
