Falkirk have completed the signing of defender Will Vaulks.

The 19-year-old was released from Tranmere Rovers in November and has since been playing for Conference North side Workington.

However a clause in the player’s contract allowed him to leave if wanted by a full-time club.

Vaulks, a right-back, will provide much needed defensive cover for Steven Pressley’s side. Kieran Duffie, who usually occupies that position, is currently injured.

Pressley said: “I’m delighted to have acquired the services of Will as he is a versatile defender and at exactly the right age for us.

“Like almost every club at the moment, things are tight financially, but he impressed me with his desire and commitment to play for us, which made the signing a lot easier.”

Vaulks, who has signed till the end of the season, joined the travelling squad on Saturday and watched from the sideline his new team lost 4-1 at Central Park.
