Falkirk’s players were given a dressing down in the dressing rooms of Cowdenbeath after the 4-1 defeat on Saturday.
And boss Steven Pressley says they need to re-dress the result by beating Dunfermline on Saturday.
He didn’t skirt the issue when he told The Falkirk Herald: “Saturday was not acceptable. We lost goals from bread and butter situations. We should be doing better.
“Up until the Dumbarton game we had one of the best goals against records in the league but in the past month we have conceded too many and that has to change, because going forward, we look like a team capable of scoring goals.”
He has talked extensively to the players about the game and is anticipating a positive reaction against Dunfermline on Saturday.
Kieran Duffie has an outside chance of playing after a scan returned favourable news on his knee injury. Conor McGrandles has not trained but may return today.
“You get set-backs with these young players,” Pressley added.
“I’ve said that a lot, but the lack of energy was something I didn’t see coming after our meticulous preparations for the week before.
“We need to be better, because we have improved dramatically as a group in the last four months. We have to get a reaction.”
