Falkirk striker urges fans to support stricken Raith defender via Twitter

Farid El Alagui visited Laurie Ellis at the Forth Valley Royal Hospital last night.

The Falkirk striker was involved in the sickening collision that left the defender with a double jaw fracture and several missing teeth.

The pair had contested a header in the 33rd minute of the match but as both tumbled to the ground the Morroccan apeared to land on the Raith player.

The accident led to a nine minute stoppage while Ellis was stretchered off and rushed to hospital.

El Alagui visited Ellis at his bedside last night before heading to supporters' functions, and plans to return to visit the former St Mirren player.

He urged Falkirk fans to send their support to Ellis via Twiter.

"Went to see Laurie Ellis yesterday night at Larbert's hospita. His jaw is fractured on two sides, he has lost some teeth and doesn't remember what happenned to him.

"Will be going to see him again so if anybody wants to show hims support I will let him know how many people answer to me and tell him about all your messages. Falkirk's fans and everybody, time to show your support!

"I will show him all your messages on my phone im sure it will help him for a speedy recovery so come on everybody! #getwellsoonbigman"

El Alagui had hit his 27th goal of the season to open the scoring before Ellis' horror injury. Raith went on to win the game 3-2 with a hat-trick from Brian Graham. Blair Alston also scored a volley for Falkirk.
