Craig cap call cancelled by Farid’s cards

FAN favourite Farid El Allagui will be missing from this weekend’s Ramsden’s Cup clash with John Robertson’s East Fife.

The Falkirk frontman has picked up two bookings in the competition so far, as well as scoring in each of the Bairns’ previous round victories against Albion Rovers and Dundee.

But competition rules mean he will miss the visit to Methil leaving Steven Pressley short on attacking options.

That has forced the Bairns boss to deny ex-Sunderland coach Ricky Sbagria a look at Craig Sibbald.

The 16-year-old was called up for the Toto Cup squad before Sbagria took over ahead of this week’s competition this week, but the left-sided attacker has been retained for first team duties.

Kyle Turnbull has travelled to Austria with the national team, which lost 2-1 to Croatia on Tuesday.

Blair Alston may make the bench on Sunday, but Stephen Kingsley and David Weatherston are doubts.
