STENHOUSEMUIR boss Davie Irons is switching career, but that hasn’t stopped him making three new signings.

Part-time boss Irons is joining the police, but has raided Stirling Albion for defender Martyn Corrigan, and has also snatched the signature of Clyde’s Ross McMillan.

Heraldsport also understands midfielder Paul McHale will sign for the Warriors tonight (Thursday) after informing rivals Stirling Albion he wouldn’t be staying.

They add to the players already staying at Ochilview, a group that now includes Eric Paton.

The former Dundee right-back, deployed in midfield for the Warriors since arriving in January, has penned a two-year deal at Ochilview.

Assistant boss Kevin McGoldrick told Heraldsport the squad was coming together: “I don’t want to finish one place above relegation, neither does Davie Irons and next season we’re going to have a right good go at it.

“The squad is coming together nicely, we’re hoping to announce another few signings added to the guys that we have already.

“Martyn Corrigan comes as a player coach which will help us too. Ross McMillan won a lot of player of the year awards at Clyde last season and we’re pleased to get him.”

All offers of a contract to last season’s Warriors have been accepted, except by Grant Anderson and Scott Dalziel who are evaluating their options.

Simon Lynch has also quit football after a miserable season of injury.

“Simon has made that decision but we have left the door open for him,” added McGoldrick.

“With Grant and Scott we are waiting on an answer but if they do decide to move on, they’d go with our best wishes.”
