Falkirk’s Ali Fraser scored his first competitive basketball points as Team GB suffered at the hands of NBA star Tony Parker and France at Eurobasket 2013.

The former Clark Eriksson Fury and Falkirk High player was pitched in for the fourth quarter of the ESPN televised tie and tipped in his first ever points off the top edge of the backboard with two minutes 30 seconds of the match remaining.

But Team GB were swept away by a dominant French team that included San Antonio Spurs guard Parker, by 88-65.

Fraser started on the bench as did another former Fury player, Olympian Kieron Achara.

But the 30-year-old former Glasgow Rocks man was in action much earlier than his younger compatriot to add four rebounds to his tournament leading 13 rebounds the previous night.

Team GB are 1-1 after the defeat. They defeated Israel in overtime on Wednesday afternoon with Achara playing a key role and Fraser on the bench for the entire match.

They next play Belgium in Slovenia, tomorrow. Tip off 4.45 p.m.
