Around 150 P6 and P7 pupils from 10 primary schools across Larbert gathered at Ochilview for the Steve R. Burns Memorial Festival of Football.
The former director at the Warriors died suddenly, aged 45, whilst watching his side at the start of las
t season.
To mark his tragic passing, the club and Larbert Round Table jointly arranged the seven-a-side schools competition.
They were joined by Warriors vice-chairman Martin McNairney and several other board members for the occasion.
Fellow board member and honorary Round Table chairman Robert Beagley
co-ordinated the day.
He said: "Steve was a past chairman of Larbert Round Table and a very
close friend to me and my family.
"His passing at so early an age was tragic and a great loss to all he touched.
"We felt that an annual event such as this would be a fitting tribute, as it brought together two things he held dear – his love of football, particularly Stenhousemuir, and the interest he shared in the wider local community.
"I was delighted with such a great turn-out of boys and girls.
"Above all it retains his family link with the club and I am delighted that his wife Lesley and his sons Craig (19) and Paul (14) were in attendance to make the presentations."
An emotional Lesley, added: "It was obviously a day of mixed emotions for me.
"Nevertheless, I was delighted with the turn-out and all the children seemed to enjoy themselves.
"It was so well organised – even the weather was fine – and I am grateful to Robert, the football club, Round Table and everyone with the organising such a tribute.
"It is something Steve would have enjoyed."
There were no losers on the day, as all young participants received plaques and certificates from Lesley and current Round Table chairman Stuart McInnes.
They will also be invited to attend a game in the new season.
Mr Beagley also wished to thank everyone involved in organising the great event, especially Warriors community coach Stevie Ferguson, who helped pull everything together.
