SCOTT Flinders didn't think twice about whether to sign for Falkirk once he was given a tour around the club's University of Stirling training base.

The 22-year-old Crystal Palace goalkeeper officially joined the Bairns last Friday and was included in the squad for the match against Hibernian at Easter Road the following day.

He is on-loan from Selhurst Park until January and Bairns boss Joh
n Hughes is confident the 6' 4" Englishman can do a job.

"Scott is someone who was on my radar for some time and I am delighted to finally get him," said Hughes.

"He had the courtesy to come here and see around our training base. He immediately liked what he saw and didn't hesitate in tying the deal up.
Scott needs a couple of hard weeks training and a few games to sharpen up first but I am sure he will not let us down, he is a top class keeper."

Flinders has made 13 appearances for Palace since joining them from Barnsley in 2006 and has also had spells on loan at Gillingham, Brighton, Yeovil and, latterly, Blackpool.

However, he was pushed down the pecking order due to the summer arrival of Darryl Flahavan, brought in from Southend as back-up to regular number one Julian Speroni.

Flinders will now provide Robert Olejnik with competition for a starting place in the Falkirk side.
