The Bairns have agreed a short-term deal with the 23-year-old former Sochaux youth player.

Zerara, a one-time France under-20 internationalist, started his career at the Ligue One club in his home country before moving to Germinal Beerschot in the Belgian Jupiler League.

And he most recently turned out for Al Dhafra in the United Arab Emirates League, whose season has recently come to an end.

Now Bairns boss Eddie May is only waiting on paperwork to be completed and the 5' 10" player, of Algerian descent, could be included in the squad for tomorrow's meeting with Hibernian at Easter Road.

"We are just waiting for international clearance and when that comes through he'll be joining us," said May.

"Everything else is done, he's agreed a short-term deal and hopefully the clearance will come through before the game."

Zerara impressed May while on trial with Falkirk for the past two weeks and his 11th signing since taking over the reins of the first team in the summer would alleviate an injury-ravaged squad.

May has already drafted in free agents Pedro 'Pelé' Monteiro and Pedro Moutinho this month, and has been casting his eye over a number of other players who are currently out of contract.

The manager has been rocked with a number of long-term injuries to key players in recent weeks and had no less than SEVEN out prior to last weekend's 2-0 defeat of Hamilton Accies.

"It's just been a horrendous time for injuries," added May.
