FALKIRK RFC are due to host Premiership One big guns Heriot's in the fourth round of the Scottish Hydro Electric National Cup on Saturday.
The Edinburgh club, currently sitting in third place in Scotland's number one league, were runners-up in the cup competition last season.

It will be a tough test for Falkirk, but one everyone is looking forward to.

Club president Alex McQuade told Heraldsport: "This might have come at a better time because our last game, when we lost to Perthshire at Sunnyside, was a disappointing one.

"It showed up our lack of game fitness having not played for four weeks prior to it, but Saturday is a cup tie and different from the weekly grind of league rugby.

"It also gives us the opportunity to play against one of the top clubs in Scotland.

"Heriots have some top class players, including some signed on professional contracts with Edinburgh and Glasgow.

"But we also have quality players and we always play better against this kind of opposition, so we are looking forward to the challenge."
Falkirk played Heriot's at Goldenacre during their pre-season preparations last summer and, while the final result was not in their favour, the Sunnysiders' squad has been boosted significantly since.

Whoever gets knocked out of the competition at this stage progresses into the SHE Shield, which Falkirk won two seasons ago.
Kick-off at Sunnyside is at 1.30 p.m. and spectators are encouraged to attend.

Meanwhile, Grangemouth Stags are scheduled to play Huntly away in an outstanding National Cup round three (Caledonia Region) tie.
