HIGHLY rated striker Paul Sludden has joined East Fife on loan.
The 18-year-old, who signed a one year-deal with the club during the summer, topped the scoring charts in the U19 league last season.

He will spend three months at the Second Division club in an effort to gain more first-team experience.

And head of football development Ross Wilson told Heraldsport that he hoped the move would prove to be as successful as previous loan deals involving Academy starlets.

"Paul was extremely successful for the U19s last year, finishing top scorer in the league", he said. "We are sure he will score goals at East Fife and wish him well.

"This was something we started about four or five years ago with Darren Barr going to Forfar and since then the likes of Mark Stewart and Jamie Barclay have all gone out on loan.

''It has proved very successful in giving the players that valuable first-team experience and I am sure this will prove to be the case again."
