FALKIRK Rugby Club have started preparations for their 2008-09 season in Premiership Division Three.
The Sunnysiders, winners of five consecutive National League titles, are being put through their paces at Sunnyside every Tuesday and Thursday evening.

They will then begin an attractive friendly match programme with a tour to Dublin on Friday, A
ugust 1, where a game has been lined up against Old Wesley at Donnybrook – the ground where Leinster also play (7.30 p.m. kick-off).

Club president Alex McQuade told Heraldsport: "It's a great compliment to the club that we can now attract fixtures with clubs like Old
Wesley, who are one of the oldest clubs in Ireland with a great history and a string of ex-international players."

Falkirk then have an invitation to the Morrisons Solicitors Tournament at Goldenacre on Saturday, August 15.

Previously known as the Mansell Trophy, it involves two groups of four teams and, last year, comprised of seven Premier One sides – plus Falkirk.

"Already, I know that Heriots, Glasgow Hawks and Boroughmiur, and possibly Watsonians, will be involved," added McQuade.

"So we are really looking forward to it."

Meanwhile, the process of signing new players is currently on-going and news will be released on who is joining the Sunnysiders for the campaign ahead in the near future.
