A travelling support running into fourfigures
watched in amazement on
Saturday as Falkirk carved chance after
glorious chance, yet couldn't find the
back of the net.
The build-up play in Stirling was
certainly impressive but the lack of that
goal-scoring touch meant the match
ended goalless and the Bairns' hopes of
ALBA Cup glory perished on penalties.
Though Pressley isn't worried, and
despite being disappointed to exit the
competition at the first hurdle, the boss is
quite pleased with the majority of what he
saw at Forthbank - except the lack of
goals.
"We dominated the game, and I've seen
a lot of games where teams dominate but
can't create - but not us - we had nine or
ten big chances," he told Heraldsport.
"All that's missing is a little clinical
touch. Several people have said to me
they haven't seen a better performance
than that. We created the opportunites
and all that was missing was the goals, but
it's still early on in the season.
"I see no reason to panic - we've scored
in every pre-season game up until now."
It was Carl Finnigan, Mark Stewart and
an advanced late role for defender Mehdi
Khalis who couldn't find the net, but
Pressley is sure the goals will flow for his
strikers and for Kenny Deuchar when he
returns to full fitness.
