THIS weekend's Co-operative
Insurance Cup-tie against Brechin
City will be a yardstick to measure
Stenhousemuir's chances in the
coming Second Division league season.
That's according to manager John
Coughlin, who believes the visitors to
Ochilview on Saturday will again be
among the teams chasing a place in
the First Division come May.

The Warriors chief is hoping his
summer signings will help his team
move away from the relegation battle
they found themselves in last term
and is keen to find out how they
measure up against one of the sides
that made the promotion play-offs.

"We will play Brechin four times in the
league this season.

" I want to use this match to see how
we do. Maybe that will be a pointer to
how we might do in the league," said
Coughlin.

"There is no doubt Brechin are a
talented team. They have lots of
clever players and we have to make
sure we take care of them. So, in many
ways it is an important match for us."
