A group of youngsters have been charged after vandalising play equipment.
Last week’s incident saw grafitti daubed on the facilities at Westfield Park in Falkirk.
The park was created through funding provided by local residents from the Thornwood Tenants and Residents Association.
A police spokesman said: ‘‘Unfortunately a group of youths carried out the out the acts of vandalism, despite all being locals who regularly use the facilities.
‘‘Five youngsters aged between 11 and 13 have since been charged by police officers.’’
The children have already begun efforts to remove the graffiti.
Local community officer PC Ali Granger has urged residents to remain vigilant to this kind of activity and report any incidents they see immediately to police.
