Supermarket giant Asda is urging Scots to host their own strawberry tea parties as part of a campaign by Breast Cancer Care.

The supermarket invited Scottish singer and presenter Michelle McManus to launch this year’s Strawberry Tea campaign to encourage catch ups with family and friends over cake and raise funds for charity at the same time.

Over 60 Asda stores across Scotland will, for the first time, join Breast Cancer Care’s annual summer fundraiser.

From June 4-18 each participating Asda store will host a Strawberry Tea stall with activities, including cupcake decorating and a teapot lucky dip. There will also be information on how the public can join in and host their own Strawberry Tea, as well as background about the charity and the services it provides.

All money raised will help Breast Cancer Care provide support for women, men, family and friends affected by breast cancer.

Michelle is encouraging the public to put their skills to charitable use and support this cause.

She said: “I’m supporting Breast Cancer Care’s Strawberry Tea campaign because I think it is a wonderful way to raise money for such a worthy cause with your nearest and dearest.

“We had a great morning and I was delighted to host the launch in such a beautiful setting with a cup of tea and a slice of cake!”
