The wedding of Nicola McDevitt and Allan Stainthorpe
THE COUPLE: Nicola (27) is from Maddiston and works as a childminder in the local area and Allan (36), who is originally from Manchester, works in IT in Livingston. The couple, who have a two-year-old daughter Katie, live in Maddiston.
HOW THEY MET: The couple met through work in September 2007. Allan had been working in England but got transferred to Livingston to the Iron
Mountain company where Nicola worked in IT at the time. It was
"almost" love at first sight!
THE PROPOSAL: Nicola and Allan agreed to get married after having
daughter Katie. Nicola said that there wasn't an actual proposal
but just one of those things that the couple discussed and agreed
THE WEDDING: The wedding was held on September 4 at Callander House where there were 20 day guests. The ceremony was followed by an evening reception in Greenpark Community Centre in Polmont where 70 guests joined in the celebrations.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Nicola's best friend Sarah Ransconbe was a bridesmaid as was Allan's sister Jennifer Stainthorpe. The best man was Allan's friend Kevin Prunty. The wedding also had three pretty flower girls who were Katie Stainthorpe (2), Grace Elliott (3) and one-and-a-half year old Sophie Elliott.
THE DRESS: Nicola's dress was a bit unusual as she had a cream gown with red detailing on the bodice. She bought it from Ebay and described it as "the bargain of the century".
THE HONEYMOON: The newly-weds spent time relaxing in a log cabin in Dunoon with little Katie.
THANKS: Special thanks go to Nicola's mum Jacqueline who organised everything.
