Wedding of the week: Lisa Robertson and Richard Bowie

The wedding of Lisa Robertson and Richard Bowie.

THE COUPLE: Lisa Robertson (29) is originally from Grangemouth and works as a welfare rights officer for the Link Housing Association, while Richard (30) is from Stenhousemuir and is a planning engineer with

Doosan Babcock. The couple live in Falkirk.

HOW THEY MET: The couple had been good friends for years before getting

together in April 2006.

THE PROPOSAL: Richard popped the question in September 2009 in New York at the top of the Empire State Building at midnight. He used a 20 ring

but surprised Lisa the next day by taking her shopping for the real

thing.

THE WEDDING: Lisa and Richard were married on November 13 at the Kirk of the Holy Rood Church in Grangemouth followed by a reception in the Park Hotel, Falkirk. It had rained all day but stopped just before Lisa left the house and stayed off for the ceremony and while the photos were taken.

THE WEDDING PARTY: Lisa's best friend Clair Brownie, sister Donna Kuhn

and sister-in-law Alison Robertson were the bridesmaids and the best man was Craig Morton. Lisa's nephews Conor Robertson, Kieran and

Nathan Kuhn were the page boys.

THE DRESS: Lisa's dress was designed by Maggie Sottero. The bridesmaids wore orange, strapless, floor length Alfred Angelo dresses, and the men wore Grey Balmoral Tartan Kilts.

THE HONEYMOON: The couple had already booked to go to Cuba, where they

originally wanted to get married, but used it for the honeymoon instead. They spent 10 days in the beach resort of Varadero and seven in Havana.
