Stevie Beattie reckons he got the “job done” against Qasim Hussain.
The awkward Sheffield fighter posed a different challenge for Beattie in his second pro boxing bout, but his busy, dominant performance saw him through to a 2-0 start to his pro career with MGM Scotland.
But Beattie thinks there is plenty room for improvement.
He told MGM Scotland TV: “I could see I was putting him off balance so I tried to put him away but I started getting smarter later as I got tired – I should have done that in the first round but I’m always learning.”
The slamannan fighter debuted in a noisy Bellahouston Sports Centre. However his vocal Falkirk following headed to the MGM Dinner Club to back TeamBeats and he didn’t disappoint.
“The fans make all the difference,” added the 24-year-old. “I’d fight in my own back garden with no-one there, but they’re making memories out there.”
Beattie’s next fight is June 25 in Bellahouston. Tickets are available here.
