Tickets for Rod Stewart’s concert at Falkirk Stadium will go on general sale on Friday.
Yesterday’s announcement that the rock superstar will be playing in the town came after months of negotiations.
If the 18,000 tickets for June 21 sell out quickly, it is hoped that a second night could be added to the five-date tour.
A delighted Andy Thomson, director of organisers Falkirk FC (Events). said: “This is a great draw for the town and I’m sure the whole community will get behind us.”
Admitting he is a “huge fan” of Rod, who is almost as well known for his love of football as his music, he added that the venue and organisers had proved themselves with last year’s Elton John concert and this summer’s weekend of events headlined by Status Quo .
He said: “Everyone involved, the majority of them volunteers, worked incredibly hard and we have proved that we can play with the big boys. However, what we have in our favour is our community involvement.”
Falkirk FC season ticket holders will be able to get tickets at the club shop from 10 a.m. today till 10 a.m. tomorrow when they go on general sale. Priced from £55, they are available at www.ticketline.co.uk or by calling 0844 888 9991.
