Police are hunting the man who attacked a 61-year-old woman in her own back garden in Grangemouth on Monday morning.

The incident happened just after 9.30am in the town’s Strowan Square when four men entered the garden and one of them grabbed the woman and pushed her against a wall. Police were contacted as soon as the group left the area.

The man who attacked the woman is white, mid-20s, stocky build, 5ft 10ins tall and was wearing a grey zipped up jacket, blue denim jeans and had a distinctive grey hairstyle in a long ponytail with green colouring throughout.

PC Alexander Clarke, of Grangemouth Police Station, said: “The victim suffered some minor injuries as a result of this incident and was left very shaken. We are keen to trace the suspect and the group of men he was with and would ask anyone who can help to identify them to come forward.

“In addition anyone who remembers seeing anything suspicious in Strowan Square on Monday morning, or who has information relevant to this inquiry should also get in touch.”
