We’re proud to announce the return of the most-talked about business event of the year.

The Falkirk Herald Business Awards 2013 are now officially launched.

If you want to be at the glittering event in the MacDonald Inchyra Hotel, Polmont on November 21 when the coveted prizes are handed over, don’t delay in filling in your entry form.

The awards, the fifth to be organised by Scotland’s biggest selling weekly newspaper, are open to any business or organisation operating in Falkirk district.

We are delighted to welcome on board Falkirk Council as our strategic partner, indicating the esteem the event is held in by both the public and private sector.

Over the years we’ve recognised many outstanding businesses and organisations in the area: some were entrepreneurs working alone, while others were large firms with an extensive management structure behind them. But all had one thing in common, they were good at what they do and they were successful in what has been a difficult economic period.

Stuart Birkett, managing director of Johnston Press plc’s Scottish publishing unit which publishes The Falkirk Herald, said he was delighted the awards were being launched.

He said: “Over the past few years, this event has become a firm fixture in the local business calendar and one which is eagerly anticipated.

“Of course, we are all aware of the difficult economic times we have faced recently,
but over the years, the number and quality of entries we
received was a clear indicator of the optimism in the district and that our local businesses are well placed to meet the challenges that lie ahead.

“Along with our partner and sponsors, I look forward to receiving and judging what I’m sure will once again be an extensive and varied selection of entrants.”

The award categories have been slightly revamped for 2013 to reflect changes to the commercial and business map.
