Thousands of women played their part in the fight against cancer at the weekend by walking or running Falkirk’s Race for Life.
The sun shone over Callendar Park for the Cancer Research UK event yesterday when young and old came together to raise vital funds and have a great time.
It was an emotional day for many who have been affected by the disease.
Among the runners were feisty five-year-old Grace Newton from Grangemouth who’s receiving treatment for bone cancer, and 19 members of Central Taekwondo Academy to support black belt Jacqueline Kenny who lost her husband to a brain tumour last year.
Speaking on Sunday, Cancer Research UK’s events manager Cara Inglis said: “We’ve been inspired by all the remarkable people we’ve met today.”
