Parish Church

Last Sunday, the service of Remembrance was conducted by the Rev. Monica MacDonald. The Tryst was read by Raymond Baird. The children from the Sunday School took part with Lucy, Ellie and Mackenzie reading from Flanders Field. A roll of remembrance was read by John McGarry, Linda McGarry, Janette Baird and James Foley. The scripture reading was by Grace Douglas. Following the service the laying of wreaths took place at the Cenotaph and memorial garden. This Sunday, the service is at the usual time of 11.15 a.m. Sunday School meet at the same time everyone welcome to join us. The friendship group will meet on Tuesday in the Bowling Club at 7 p.m. There will be a St Andrews night in the Bowling Club on Friday, November 21, entertainment by John Morgan and Murial. Santa’s Souper

Limerigg Primary School School Parent Council will be holding a Santa’s Souper Saturday on November 22 from 1-3 p.m. in Limerigg Community Centre. Admission, adults £2, children £1. Includes soup/tea/coffee/cake. There will be a Santa’s Grotto and home baking, Christmas goodies and a raffle. All welcome.

Focus Group

Slamannan Community Centre is looking for between four to eight people aged over 50 for some focus groups for Health Scotland. The focus group exercises are quite light, conversational and regarding healthy ageing and what makes a difference to wellbeing, health and mood as people age in Scotland. Angling Club

Permits to fish on the River Avon for season 2014 are now on sale. They are available from Linda’s Store (Slamannan); Rod and Creel (Carronshore); Go Fishing (Grahams Road, Falkirk) and also in Maryanne’s Alterations (Bo’ness), Linlithgow Post Office, Curries Printers in Broxburn and Livingston Angling (Houston Industrial Estate). Lodge St John Slamannan No 484: On Saturday, October 18 a large attendance witnessed Brother Graham McComb on being Installed into the chair of the Lodge, by P.M. Lenny McComb, P.M. Colin Reid and P.M. James Kerr. in a solemn and dignified manner the R.W.P.G. Master Andrew McKinnon was in attendance and congratulated everyone who participated in the Installation Ceremony. The next regular meeting will be a Second Degree on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. Visitors will be made welcome.
