SWRI Meeting

Slamannan SWRI met in Slamannan Primary School on Wednesday, March 5. After business there followed a talk by Angela Wagstaff of Mary’s Meals which was very much enjoyed by all who attended. Members asked questions after the talk to gain further information about Mary’s Meals and the services they provide to children and their families in Malawi and other areas. The competition was Make Truffles - 1 Jane Miller; 2 Lyn Kelly; 3 Mary McNee. Members also brought along items for backpacks for Mary’s Meals which are being sent to the children in Malawi. Tea was served followed by the raffle and the meeting ended with the National Anthem.

Angling Club

Permits to fish the River Avon for season 2014 are now on sale and will make an ideal stocking filler. They are available from Linda’s Store (Slamannan); Rod and Creel (Carronshore); Go Fishing (Grahams Road, Falkirk) and also in Maryanne’s Alterations (Bo’ness), Linlithgow Post Office, Curries Printers in Broxburn and Livingston Angling (Houston Industrial Estate). Lodge St John Slamannan No 484 - The next regular meeting will be a second degree on Wednesday, March 19. Brethren please note it will be a 7.15 p.m. start. There will be a ballot and the visit of the P.G.L.of Stirlingshire. Also, an Emergency third Degree will be held on Friday, March 28 at 7.30 p.m. Visitors will be welcome.
