Parish Church

Last Sunday’s service was conducted by Rev. Helen Cook on door duty were Linda McGarry and John Johnstone. Bible readings were by Charlene Condeco and Ray Buchanan. The social evening held in the bowling club on May 31 realised the sum of £722. Thanks to everyone who helped in any way. The next social event will be a ‘Rose Tea’ held at Ardtalla, Kirkburn, Slamannan on Sunday, June 22 at 2 p.m. There will be all the usual stalls, baking, tombola, etc., and tickets are available from Linda, Janette and Lady Jane. A warm invitation is extended to join us this Sunday at 11.15 a.m. when Marjory Williamson, Moderator of Falkirk Presbytery, will be with us. There will be a Fellowship tea after the service giving time to meet and have a chat. Anyone who still has sponsor sheets please return them to Linda by June 15. Angling Club

Permits to fish on the River Avon this season are now on sale. They are available from Linda’s Store (Slamannan), Rod and Creel (Carronshore), Go Fishing (Grahams Road, Falkirk), Maryanne’s Alterations (Bo’ness), Linlithgow Post Office, Curries Printers in Broxburn and Livingston Angling (Houston Industrial Estate).
