Angling Club

Permits to fish on the River Avon for season 2015 are now on sale. They are available from Linda’s Store (Slamannan); Rod and Creel (Carronshore); Go Fishing (Grahams Road, Falkirk) and also in Maryanne’s Alterations (Bo’ness), Linlithgow Post Office, Curries Printers in Broxburn and Livingston Angling (Houston Industrial Estate). Masonic News

Lodge St John Slamannan No 484 on Wednesday, December 17 saw RW Master Graham McComb give a warm welcome to members and visitors after the routine business was passed. The second degree was conferred by RW Master Kevin McLean of Lodge St Andrew D.L. No 176, which was carried out with dignity and decorum. The RW Master G McComb thanked him most sincerely on the degree ceremonial. He also expressed the season’s greetings to all members and visitors. The next regular meeting will be a third degree on Wednesday, January 21 at 7.30 p.m. and an Emergency Meeting and a third degree on Friday, January 30 at 7.30 p.m.

Lodge Meeting

The January meeting of LOL 227 takes place tonight (Thursday) in Limerigg Village Hall at 7.30 p.m.

Parish Church

Last Sundays service was conducted by the Rev. Monica MacDonald. On door duty were John Johnstone. The Scripture readings were by Lord Westerlea. The funeral service for Vina Ross took place on Tuesday, January 6 and our deepest sympathy goes to the family. This Sunday’s service takes place at the usual time of 11 a.m. Congregational prayer time is at 10.40 a.m. and a warm welcome is extended to everyone. The Sunday Fun Club starts back at 11 a.m. and all children from three years of age are welcome to come along and make new friends while enjoying arts and crafts, games, songs and Bible stories.
