There’s still time for local ladies to sign up for this year’s Race for Life.
The fun, female-only event asks women to walk, run, or jog 5K to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK.
This year, Falkirk’s event is being held in Callendar Park at 11 a.m. on Sunday, May 20.
Hundreds of local women have already signed up but there’s still three weeks to go before the closing date on May 17.
Gillian Forsyth, Cancer Research UK’s Scottish events manager, said: “Come on ladies – please enter Race for Life in Falkirk today.
“It’s all of us versus cancer and we need you to join the fight as soon as possible.”
Cancer Research UK believe that, by uniting, Falkirk females can make a stand against cancer, a disease which affects over 28,000 people in Scotland every year.
Gillian said: “We know many women want to take part in Race for Life but are worried that won’t be able to complete the course,
“We want to reassure them that Race for Life is not about being fast or fit,
“Instead, it’s a celebration of sisterhood and hope.”
Last year, 2100 women took part in Race for Life in Falkirk, raising a fantastic £125,000.
And, since Race for Life began, 6,000,000 participants across the UK have raised over £457 million to fund the work of over 4,000 researchers, doctors and nurses dedicated to helping more people beat cancer.
