Parish church

Last Sunday’s service was conducted by Mrs Amanda MacQuarrie. Worship this Sunday will take place at the usual time of 10 a.m. when the Sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated and there will be a retiring collection for missionary partners Sandra and Graeme Duncan. Also on Sunday there will be an evening service at 7 p.m. All welcome. The banner/craft group meets on Fridays at 2 p.m. in the church hall. Sunday morning services are recorded and a CD is available for anyone who is housebound or unable to attend church. Christian Aid

The amount raised in the recent door-to-door collection was £1428.47. Thanks are due to all who donated to this worthy cause and to the volunteers who helped with the collection and to count the money.

Community council

Shieldhill & California Community Council’s next meeting will be held in the community wing, next to Shieldhill Primary School, tonight (Thursday) at 7.30 p.m. A presentation on behalf of Falck/Atmos will be given regarding the proposal of a wind farm development near Auchengean Farm. All are welcome - if you have any issues you wish to raise or highlight please attend.
