The Scottish Environment Protection Agency has suspended Oran Environmental Solutions Ltd’s right to accept further waste into their Abbotsinch site.
A SEPA spokesperson said: “Following a site inspection at Oran Environmental Solutions Limited’s site, SEPA has concluded the operator did not meet the requirements of a previously issued enforcement notice.
“Therefore, we have issued a partial suspension notice which prevents the company from accepting any further waste onto the licensed site. The suspension will take effect from midnight on Friday, June 14, and will remain in place until all requirements, from the previous enforcement notice, have been complied with.
“The company will be authorised to continue processing and removing waste already on the site.”
In addition to the suspension, SEPA has also issued Oran Environmental Solutions Limited with three additional enforcement notices regarding its Abbotsinch site.
A spokesman said: “The notices require the company to comply with further licence conditions, some of which address the potential to contribute to fly nuisance.”
In the last few years residents near the site have reported their premises are regularly subjected to fly infestation.
