Families were allowed to soak up the party atmosphere as the weather actually stayed sunny and dry for this year’s Grangemouth Festival of the Sea.

Scores of youngsters enjoyed a wide variety of activities along La Porte Precinct and York Arcade while mums and dads had a bit of a boogie to the live sounds of The Tonkerers, Blue Dubh and Frankie on the town’s electric bandstand.

Giant seagulls were on hand to create a welcome nuisance for shoppers, real-life birds of prey were present to be admired from afar and close up, while children took full advantage of face painting stalls, a giant inflatable and the creations of an expert balloon animal manipulator.
