Visitors to Callendar Park next week will be in for a surprise – as hundreds of Santas compete in a 5km race.

The annual Strathcarron Hospice Santa Dash will take place on Saturday, December 5 at 11am and see adults, kids and dogs in red and white suits compete a circuit round the Falkirk park.

Hospice ward manager Susan Bateman is running the race with her husband Dale and children Lewis (9) and Rory (7). The Bonnybridge family is active and decided to take part in the event to raise money for the hospice.

Susan said: “It’s a nice reason to all get out and be active for the hospice. My boys like running and have done races before but this is something a little bit different.

“We’ve never done it before but I’m looking forward to seeing hundreds of Santas run through Callendar Park.”

Entry costs £10, £3 for kids and a family ticket is £25.

Entry includes a one size fits all Santa suit and you can download a form from the Strathcarron Hospice website or by calling (01324) 826222.
