High winds caused damage to buildings in Falkirk town centre.

Police cordoned off the area around the Registration Office in Newmarket Street around 11 a.m. on Sunday.

The building was closed today with no public access to register births, marriages or deaths. The Falkirk Delivers office which is also in the ground floor of the property was also shut.

High winds affected slates on the roof of the building.

However, after the damage was assessed by Falkirk Council inspectors it was announced that it would open as normal on Tuesday.
