President Norman Black was in the chair for the weekly meeting of Polmont Rotary Club. After dinner and some business, the speaker for the evening was, Ronnie Fitzcharles of Fitzcharles Coaches and he was introduced to the club by Rotarian Jim Dyer. Ronnie outlined the formation of the company as a bicycle shop in 1929 and then selling insurance. The business also charged and sold accumulator batteries for radio sets and then diversified into electrical sales and installing electricity in houses. Later they opened a garage, petrol station and started limousine hire, taxi and coach hire business. Ronnie then explained about the formation of the Coach business, currently running 16 vehicles and some of the busses they have had over the years. Ronnie then regaled the club with stories about their tours in the UK and abroad and the funny things that happened over the years.
