Buggy Group

The group meets every Monday, 12.30 p.m at the car park behind the church hall in Polmont. After the walk the group go back to the hall where there is a very well run mother and toddler group. All buggy walks are free, for more information speak to your health visitor or contact Stepforth@falkirkcommunitytrust.org (01324) 504556.

Volunteer Needed

Someone is needed to help out at the Polmont buggy group. The walk starts at 12.30 p.m. and lasts an hour. Training will be provided and all the lovely walks will be shown in the area. You just have to be fit and enjoy walking. If interested please call (01324) 504556.

RSCDS Classes

The Royal Scottish Country Dance Class meets in Polmont Old Church Hall (parking to rear of Hall off Greenpark Drive) from 7.45 to 9.15 p.m. on a Wednesday night. This class is for more experienced dancers. Beginners please refer to our classes in the Laurieston section. For further details ring Alison on (01324) 631363. AGM Meeting

Forth Valley Celiac Group is holding its AGM on Saturday, May 16 from 11.30 a.m.–1.30 p.m. The AGM at noon will be followed by a fish and chip meal from Land and Sea (orders and money will be taken between 11.30-11.50 a.m. We would be delighted to welcome all our members and anyone else with an interest in the gluten free lifestyle. Rotary Club

President Norman Black was in the chair for the weekly meeting of Polmont Rotary Club. After dinner and some business, President Norman introduced the speaker for the evening, Andy Ireland, District Governor Elect for Rotary District 1020 and a member of Polmont Rotary Club. Andy outlined his visit to San Diego as training for his year as district governor. Andy explained that Rotary’s annual training meeting gives incoming district governors the chance to share ideas for strengthening clubs and improving communities with Rotary leaders from around the world. Keynote speakers and informative presentations are arranged to inspire, encourage and prepare governors to lead their districts successfully. Idea exchanges, roundtable discussions and workshops will lead you to new ways of creating positive change. Andy announced the theme for his year will be ‘Be a gift to the world’. Andy then spoke about the District Conference being held in Dundee from November 6-8 this year. The speakers for the weekend are Scottish rugby legend Gavin Hastings, Ellis Watson, CEO DC Thomson, Dr James Robson, Dave Scott, Nil By Mouth, Tony Leech, MD Sodexo Justice Services and Karen McClusky. After a very interesting and informative talk, Andy answered some questions and the vote of thanks was given by Rotarian Ian McLean. Parish Church

Sunday morning service will be conducted by Rev. David Wandrum at 11 a.m. Choir practice at 9.45 a.m., Prayer Meeting in the Vestry at 10.30 a.m. The Youth Church meets in the church at 11 a.m., Creche in the Fellowship Room at 11 a.m. On duty are L Moore and J Park. Duty for Reading will be Alex Brown and Prayer will be S Wandrum. Flower distributor is vacant. Flower Donation by N Rule. ACTs duty will be S Gow and E Wilson. Edinburgh Gorgie Salvation Army Brass Band Concert on Friday, March 20 at 7.30 p.m. in Polmont Old Parish Church, tickets £5 (or payable at the door).
