RSCDS Classes

The local Royal Scottish Country Dancing Society class meets in Polmont Old Church Hall (parking to rear of Hall off Greenpark Drive). The Summer Classes continue - this is a general class and the teacher will vary each week. The cost is £2.50 each session and runs 7.45 - 9.15 p.m.. For further details ring Su on 01324-711576. Braveheart Walks

Lovely Polmont night walk on Tuesdays are back on with the lighter nights present! Meeting at Polmont station by the bowling club to start the walk for 7 p.m., this hour walk takes in the beautiful scenery of the Union Canal. Come along and enjoy some evening fresh air with our friendly walkers and Walk Leaders. For more information please call 01324 673703.

Buggy Group

The group meets every Monday, at 12.30 p.m. at the car park behind the church hall in Polmont. After the walk the group go back to the hall where there is a very well run mother and toddler group. All buggy walks are free, for more information speak to your health visitor or contact Stepforth@falkirkcommunitytrust.org, 01324 504556. We now have two new walk leaders for this group.

Women’s Rural

Polmont S.W.I. ‘Rural’ - The meeting on Monday, April 20 will be held at the Milk Barn, Glen Village, starting at 7.30 p.m. If any member still needs transport would they please contact the secretary on 635657 or any committee member. Names for the summer outing on Saturday, June 13 to Dalgarven Mill, Kilwinning will be taken on the evening. Competitions for the meeting are Make - A fruit compote; Take - A sundae dish.

Old Parish

On sunday, morning service conducted by Rev. Deborah van Welie is at 11 a.m. Choir practice at 9.45 a.m. Prayer Meeting in the Vestry at 10.30 a.m. No Youth Church. Messy Church at 5 p.m. in the Church Hall. Creche in the Fellowship Room at 11 a.m., on duty are M Slater and D Dagger. Duty for Reading will be Peter Thomson and Prayer will be D Sheehan. Flower Distributor is S Berry, Flower Donation by S Berry. ACTs duty will be I Thomson and S Chisholm. Lunch Bunch: We will be on holiday Thursday, April 9 and 16. Look forward to seeing you all again on April 23. Golf Outing: The Polmont Old Parish Church and Brightons Parish Church joint invitation golf outing will be held on Friday, May 22 over nine holes at Dundas Parks Golf Club. The total cost of the event will be £24 which will include Green Fees, Prizes and a two-course lunch. All participants wishing to take part in the event should return their acceptance and remittance no later than Sunday, May 10 to David Syson at Church or by post to 10 Millfield Drive Polmont. Spring Social: A Social (Afternoon Tea & Entertainment) will be held in the church hall on Wednesday, April 22 from 2–4 p.m. for our housebound, Local Homes and all members of the Wednesday Age Concern Group. Coffee Morning: On Saturday in the Church Hall at 10 a.m. All monies raised will be going to help run our outreach Story Club at St Margaret’s Primary School. All welcome.

Probus Club

It’s all change at the Probus Club of Polmont following last week’s annual general meeting. President Bill Cartner completed his succsessful year of office in the chair and installed Hector McKenzie in his stead, with Colin Mailer as president-elect. Bob McKay remains as secretary and Derek Cant as treasurer.
