Polmont mops up after storm

A large tree had to be cleared from the exit of a petrol station forecourt following the overnight storms.

Motorists were unable to use the normal way out of the Millfield filling station in Main Street, Polmont until the massive birch had been cut up and removed.

No-one was injured in the incident, but a nearby fence was also damaged.

It was one of several trees across the district felled in the high winds which battered Scotland, leaving a trail of damage in its wake.
