Police probe Falkirk car park robbery

A woman was robbed of a five-figure sum of cash in a bank car park.

This morning’s incident happened in Hope Street, Falkirk to the rear of the Royal Bank of Scotland in Newmarket Street.

Two men wearing dark clothing are believed to have been involved in the incident which occurred around 10.15 a.m.

Detective Inspector Kevin Carr, who is leading the inquiry, said: “The woman was not injured but is extremely distressed by what happened.

“I appeal for anyone who may have seen what happened to come forward. I am also keen to hear from anybody who may have seen any suspicious activity prior to the robbery or who may have seen a silver estate car, possibly a Vauxhall Vectra, being driven at speed.”

The detective added it was believed to have been a pre-planned incident.
