Police plea after man attacks dog in Grangemouth park

Bystanders looked on in horror as a man punched, kicked and lashed at his dog in a quiet park.

The incident happened in Grangemouth’s Inchyra Park just before 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 22.

A man pulled his Labrador away from a group of dog walkers. and then proceeded to physically abuse the animal in front of them.

He pinned the dog to the ground and began punching its face and muzzle before kicking it in the stomach – at one stage he hit the dog with its own lead.

The man, in his 50s, is 5ft 8in tall, with short dark, greying hair receding at the crown. He was wearing a black anorak and black trousers.

He walked off with the dog in the direction of Westerton Road when witnesses lost sight of him.

Police are currently investigating the incident and are taking steps to track the man down. If you know who the dog owner is call them on (01786) 456000.
