A new competition is going to put the focus on Falkirk.

Photographers, of all ages and skills, are being invited to submit an image that sums up the life of the town centre.

Being organised by Falkirk Delivers, the team responsible for overseeing the heart of the town, all the entries will go on display. A selection will also be printed in a special Falkirk Herald supplement.

All the photographs must be taken between noon on Saturday, June 30, and noon on Sunday, July 1.

Alastair Mitchell, Falkirk Delivers manager, said: “We want to capture 24 hours in the life of the town centre.

“It’s a great opportunity to record a day in the life of the heart of Falkirk and will be something that people can look back on for years to come.

“I know what the town centre means to me and it will be really interesting to see what it means to others.”

Photographs can be submitted in four categories - People; Places; Culture and Nature - and two age groups – 16 and under, and 17 and over.

All submissions must be taken during the allotted time and no archived photos will be accepted. They should include the name, contact details, age category and chosen category.

The maximum submission by each photographer is three images either on a disc/pen drive or by e-mailing them to photos@falkirkdelivers.com.

Although the photographer retains the copyright to the image, Falkirk Delivers reserves the right to reproduce it in the future.

The exhibition is scheduled to run from Monday, August 6, to Sunday, August 12.
