Louise Boyle actually had her West Highland Terrier Jodie in her Slamannan house for three days before either of them laid eyes on each other.
“My boyfriend got me Jodie for Christmas in 2010 and he kept telling me to stay out of one of the rooms. Then I found out he had been keeping Jodie there.”
Three-year-old Jodie is now part of the family and, living on a farm, she tries to help out wherever she can.
“She thinks she is a collie sometimes and tries to gather in the sheep, but apart from her agility training at Oatridge College on Tuesdays, she likes to spend most days curled up in front of the fire. She also likes to get wet just so she can get dried with a hair dryer.”
Louise said she would recommend the breed to anyone, adding: “I know some people say Westies can be a bit yappy, but Jodie is really laid back.”
