Mountaineering Club

On Thursday, November 6, climber Simon Yearsley will talk to Ochils Mountaineering Club about his expedition with

Malcolm Bass and Paul Figg to the Karakorum in 2012. Simon has been pursuing his passion for all things mountain for over 35 years. He grew up in the Lake District where early rock-climbing exploits fuelled his love for being in the mountains, having fun and being with good friends. He has built a reputation for adventurous exploratory new routes, often in remote or off the beaten track locations. This has included new routes in the Himalaya, Alaska, European Alps and on his beloved Scottish winter cliffs. He enjoys the challenge of reflecting on his climbs, reviewing how and why things went well (or not so well), and finding new ways to perform more effectively in the mountains. The talk will be held in the Parker Suite of the Stirling Rugby and Football Club at 8 p.m. and entry is free.
